Why Men Leave Their Wives

Why Men Leave Their Wives – And It Is Not What You Think

When it comes to keeping a marriage together, it is usually the wife who accepts the challenge of trying to keep the marriage happy and intact. As a result, many woman lay awake at night wondering why men leave their wives and worrying about how to keep that from happening to them.

Current statistics are not encouraging; at least half of all marriages end in divorce, many sooner rather than later, with serious consequences not only to children but to both spouses as well. Often this is because the husband has decided to walk out on the relationship which ends in divorce.

So why does this happen? I think many people suffer from a common misperception on why this is. Men and women are not necessarily all that much different in what they expect out of a marriage. Both have certain needs they would like to see fulfilled and will be unhappy and discontented if they are not fulfilled. Unhappiness and discontent can be why men leave their wives.

Lest there be any misunderstanding, I am not speaking of just sexual needs. A common misperception is that men want only that one need fulfilled and that many women could care less about their own sexual needs. The truth is that society encourages men to fulfill their sexual need without regard to marriage and discourages women from fulfilling that need at least until after marriage.

Long-term relationships, however, and marriages in particular, are doomed to failure and subsequent breakup if other needs are not met. A more important need that both men and women would like to see fulfilled, whether they realize it or not, is that need for appreciation by their spouse.

Both men and women want love, honor, and respect from their spouse. After all, if your spouse does not look up to you and admire you who will? Perhaps men sometimes exhibit a greater need to be admired by their spouse, but certainly it works both ways.

In order for a marriage to be successful long-term, both husband and wife must feel as though they are appreciated and that their needs in every respect are fulfilled. If a woman spends her time focusing on fulfilling the needs of her husband and tries to suppress or ignore her own needs then not only will she be unhappy but, believe it or not, her husband will be unhappy as well. There is just no way that her unhappiness will not be sensed and reflected in him.

So while it is certainly a priority to meet the needs of your husband you certainly cannot do so at the expense of your own needs being fulfilled. Always seek a middle ground where effort can be placed on both your needs and your spouse’s needs. When both spouses are willing to work in the marriage with this attitude success is highly probable and divorce is remote.

So do not lay awake at night wondering why men leave their wives but instead focus on meeting the needs of your husband without sacrificing the fulfillment of your own.

Act Of God

Act Of God

On a dark, foggy San Francisco evening, Jeremy Fullerton, a hot shot California senator with his eye on the presidency, is found murdered in the front seat of his car after speaking at a political fundraiser. The police arrest a young black male found fleeing the scene. The youth, a medical student, says that he tried to help the senator, but ran because he was afraid of the police. However, all the evidence says otherwise. The only lawyer willing to take the case, fraught with political and social ramifications, is an outsider — and Joseph Antonelli leaves his Portland, Oregon, practice in search of justice. As he begins to prepare his defense, he finds himself lost in a world ruled by backroom politics and old money. He digs deeper and uncovers a chain of deceit, betrayal, and naked ambition — and soon discovers just how much one person will risk in order to leave behind a legacy.

This historic law office appears to have more recently housed a museum. As a formerly prosperous river town, Arkansas City was hit hard by the Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927, which shifted the river’s course about a mile to the east. Although the town has dramatically shrunk in terms of population, it still has that river town feel.

I’d like to think I’m quite proficient in Spanish, but this sign has had me baffled. Well, not the whole sign; just the part that says "Estudio Juridico". Being an attorney, I have"Abogado" down cold; it means "lawyer."

At first, I thought the lawyer, one Raul Palacios, Esq., was taking on pupils who wished to prepare for admission to the legal profession. In that case, Estudio Juridico would mean "Legal Studies."

After all, there was a time in the US when there were few law schools; instead, would-be attorneys would work under the supervision of an established lawyer until such time as it was felt the student could be admitted to the bar.

However, I decided that if the sign were advertising legal training, it would be in the plural, i.e., "estudios juridicos.

So I concluded that Estudio Juridico means nothing more than "Law Office." Still and all, I’m not 100 percent certain my translation is accurate. Mr. Palacios may indeed be advertising for clerks to train as lawyers. I guess I could call him on his land line or his mobile number and settle the matter for once and for all, but I don’t think Mr. Palacios would appreciate the intrusion.

I don’t claim to understand the legal profession in Ecuador, but I can tell you that most lawyers in my home town would starve or change careers before they’d advertise their practices in the manner of Mr. Palacios.

Banks Law Office Represents Meridian

Portland, OR (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

Meridian Mortgage investors were unpleasantly surprised to receive a letter from the K&L Gates law firm demanding that they repay interest and dividends they may have received from their Meridian Mortgage investments (Seattle Times on the web 29 April 2012). A Banks Law Office client received such a letter, which threatened to sue him for the amount of his entire Meridian Mortgage investment unless he agreed to pay approximately $ 90,000 in dividend payments that he received ? and cashed ? in good faith. Banks Law Office is defending him against that claim (US Bankruptcy Court 10-17952). According to the Seattle Times, 182 investors received that letter. Investors should not agree to make any payment until they have consulted with a professional who can explain their rights.

According to investor attorney, Robert S. Banks, Meridian investors may have defenses in response to the Meridian trustee?s demands. Some of the available defenses include:

Statute of Limitations. The claims may be time barred by the applicable statute of limitations. The statutes can be complicated, but under the federal Fraudulent Transfer Act, the trustee can only avoid a transfer that ?was made or incurred on or within 2 years before the date of the filing of the [bankruptcy] petition.? The Meridian petition was filed in July, 2010. Under Washington?s Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act, which may also apply, the claims against investors must be brought ?within four years after the transfer was made or the obligation was incurred or, if later, within one year after the transfer or obligation was or could reasonably have been discovered by the claimant.? Most of the payments to investors were made more than four years ago. Under the Washington law, then, the question is whether the trustee ?could reasonably have discovered? fraud at Meridian Mortgage more than one year ago. Certain bankruptcy statutes may affect the application of the statutes of limitation.

Pre-Ponzi Scheme Payments. The fraudulent transfer laws only apply to transfers made to investors if the company is acting as a Ponzi scheme. Unless the trustee can prove that payments to you were made while Meridian was operating as a Ponzi scheme, your payments are not subject to any fraudulent transfer claims.

Good Faith Defense. Additionally, many Meridian investors also are entitled to consider and present the ?good faith defense,? which is recognized by Washington law, and says that if an investor acted in good faith and exchanged reasonably equivalent value for their investment and return, they are not subject to the trustee?s clawback.

Banks stressed that no investors should rely on this short article to fully inform them of their rights on a complicated legal matter. The defenses will depend on an investor’s individual circumstances. Banks Law Office, with help from Washington bankruptcy counsel, is speaking with investors facing claims by the Meridian trustee

Robert Banks has been representing investors for nearly 30 years. He can be reached at 1-800-647-8130
